SUPERENGINE ®  | The cycle process in a tornado

Air is heated on the ground and expands as it flows towards the centre of the vortex in the direction of radial pressure drop. In doing so, it releases free energy to the ground (usually to the displeasure of the local inhabitants).

The air then rises, surrounded by a descending wind that is also rotating.

This cold descending wind first of all flows apart radially above the inward-flowing layer of warm air. This takes place in the opposite direction to the pressure drop. In other words, free energy is absorbed until contact with the ground transforms it into the inward-flowing warm air flow.

To complete the cycle, the warm air that has risen becomes colder and is transformed into the cold descending wind.
